BRINK EVENTS

BRINK : SFAI PILOT

Some important information to be aware of:

  1. SFAI is public property, and should be treated with utmost respect.
  2. Alcohol/substances/marijuana are not permitted at the event. Period.
  3. Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be served.
  4. This is a mature event, with mature content. Speak with those at the front for more info if you are concerned about this in regards to anyone underage attending with you.
  5. Parking is only two hours around the school, so be prepared to move your car at least one block to avoid a ticket if you plan to stay the full three hours. Please be aware that the staff parking lots are prohibited for visitors.
  6. Photography is allowed.
  7. Pets are not allowed. Service animals being the exception.
  8. There are bathrooms, water fountains and a vending machine on site.
  9. We ask that guest be respectful to the artists, the work, and the patrons at all times. If the piece does not specifically say it is interactive, please refrain from touching it. If you are offended by a piece, we ask that you do not engage, and respect the artist’s right to voice their unique opinion. Please come to the front table if you have any further concerns, or questions, especially safety concerns.

The New Genres Department (where the event will take place), is located at the back of the campus, off of Francisco street, at the end of the staff parking lot. Banners and signs will be posted to guide, as the building is a bit of a maze.  The school itself is located at 800 Chestnut street, between Jones, and Leavenworth street. A link below gives location and SFAI’s web page.

BRINK events do at times contain interactive art, and time-based pieces, as well as performances, and talks. We encourage you to engage, and talk to the artists about their work. Ask questions, make professional suggestions and recommendations, and share contacts with artists you think you might click with. Contact sheets will be available at every artist’s space, as well as a mailing list form for BRINK events at the front table.

Please bring a open mind, good attitude, thirst for art, and friends and colleagues.

The event is free.
